This week our group has experienced so many realizations in the area of self-awareness and self-concept but it has also brought into our focus the people who exist in our lives and how they show up in our experience. So many questions have come to me in messages, emails, and comments that I felt that it was important to discuss why there is no free will and there never was.

There Really Is No Free Will

When you affirm, decide, declare, manifest, you are doing everything from your own perception of awareness. When you say, “I am rich,” you are affirming yourself as already being in the state of being rich. That is actually the only way to do this. The “I” is the most important part of your declaration because it is the only way to identify yourself as being in the state of having your desire. It is the only way any of us have.

When you say, “I am,” do you also understand that I – Darlene – also say, “I am”? This is because we are all connected by a unifying consciousness. There is no individualized subconscious mind. We ALL SHARE the same subconscious mind; that is why we can collectively affect the things around us because we are all connected. We are all connected to you.

Just the fact that you can identify, evaluate, accept, or reject thoughts you have means that you are not your thoughts. Your thoughts are independent of you. You perceive your thoughts like everything else in your reality. We even know that 99% of those thoughts are coming from our EGOS. But what is perceiving your thoughts then? The entity who is perceiving your thoughts as it passes in and out of our observation is who you actually are. That entity of awareness is that inner voice that allows you to choose your state, choose your desires, and utilize your divine inner voice.

“I am” is the actual name of God. It is a state of awareness and observation – the same focus and observation that holds people, places, and things in our realities. “I am” are the ‘magic words’ that enact the forces of your divinity in your reality. Your right to choose whichever state of being that you desire and to have it materialize into your life. Sounds great, right? But I just said that everyone uses the same “I am” – So does that mean everyone is doing the same thing I am?

In theory, yes, it would seem so but let’s dig a little deeper – who is “everyone”? Have you ever stepped outside of your own perception before? The answer is no. You have never seen the world through anyone’s eyes but your own and you never will. Everything that comes into your perception is a part of YOUR reality and you actually have no proof that anything that you’re seeing is any more real than any dream you’ve ever had. There is no verifiable or objective place called “reality” where we can either choose to visit or not. We are always in our reality, as is everyone.

This is why there is no ‘free will’ – there is no one that exists outside of your reality – YOU don’t even exist outside of your reality so, just like your actual thoughts, everything is subjected to the descriptions you give them and the assumptions you hold of them.

Why Did We Assume Free Will in The First Place?

We grew up in a world where we were taught that people have free will. But free will is really the will to choose. And only you have the right to choose in your reality. We were inundated by egos masquerading as individuals when, really, they are just unique iterations of our awareness expressing itself in our world. Think about it like Coldstone Creamery or Baskin Robbins – yeah, there’s a ton of flavors but it’s all ice cream at the end of the day.

This is why the world seems like a mirror; this is why we feel like we are going through something or experiencing life in a way that no one else can understand. Because no one else is “out there”; there is only ever you. You are the only thing you have proof of perceiving and thinking and being anything in your reality at all.

We have confused “free will” with the egoic representations of people in our lives following the script they were cast to follow. They have personalities, motivations, and a backstory to justify their current behavior. But just like any movie, every character develops on an arc and they grow and change based on their part in the story. If you notice, even characters in movies don’t remain the same in the end as they did when they first entered the scene. And everything reacts and moves in response to the experience of the main character of the story. In your reality, this is YOU.

You get to pick the storyline, you get to pick the scripts, and you get to reach your happy ending because this is your experience and no one else’s.

And think about it: Even in those movies, all the characters seem to be making their own choices but the director and screenwriters have already predetermined their personalities, choices, and behaviors, all of which lead up to an outcome that THEY have already chosen.  Art imitates life because it’s all we’ve ever known and so it makes more sense to believe that there has never been free will than to think there ever was.

The moment you realize that everything is the same “stardust” and made of the same thing you are, you will see and treat the world differently.

Deeper Conversations

For some, they resist this truth because it makes them feel isolated, alone, or somehow insignificant. I ask you to see it differently. I ask that you see this as you were never NOT alone – It’s always been only you. You are everything and was always everything you ever needed. Everything and everyone moves and bend to move your personal storyline forward towards your desires and because they are all you, they all want what you want as long as you accept that they do.

We intend to discuss this more in our group in the coming weeks so we can help you understand that you literally get to control every part of your world because it’s yours and that’s it. It will help you see how nothing you have ever experienced is permanent and can change the moment you change your mind and persist in it. It comes down to not just being self-aware but also being aware that the is only your self and everything and everyone is part of your self.
