The age-old, universal truth is that your inner world creates your outer world. Your inner thoughts, feelings, and visuals are the organising principles of your life. Everything you experience in your outer world has been created or experienced by you in your inner world first, either consciously or unconsciously. It is a terrible waste of time trying to fight your circumstances or conditions when you have learned the truth- your thoughts create. As Joseph Murphy says, “every thought is a cause and every condition is an effect”.

Whatever you habitually think, sinks down to your subconscious mind which then creates an experience in accordance with that thought. On average, a human has between 60,000-80,000 thoughts a day. Of that 60,000-80,000 passing thoughts, 95% of it is habitual, repetitive thoughts. Here’s where affirming comes into play. Affirmations are thoughts. Thoughts, inner conversations, and reactions are affirmations. They are the same thing. If we define the word affirmation, we learn that an affirmation is “a statement that something is true”. What you are doing is simply stating something as if it were true. Your subconscious mind has no eyes. It takes its cues from you. Whatever you habitually and repetitively affirm, it accepts as true. When thoughts are conveyed to your subconscious mind, impressions are made on your brain cells. Neurons are literally being fired up, changing shape and creating new neural pathways. Have you ever thought so much, you got a headache? Yeah, that’s why- lots of neural activity. Your thoughts are vibrations. It is energy. Energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can only be transferred. Thus, your thoughts get transferred into the screen of space where you see them being presented as experiences and circumstances.

So what actually happens when you affirm or visualise?

As Neville Goddard once said “By mentally speaking to the subjective image in your mind, you cause the mirror of your mind to vibrate. Your vibrating mind modifies the light of consciousness reflected on it. The modified light of consciousness reaches the one toward whom it is directed and impinges on the mirror of his mind- it causes his mind to vibrate according to the modification it undergoes. Thus, it reproduces in him what was mentally affirmed by you.” What this means is that because you are the only Source of your reality, you can view yourself as a telecommunication tower. Since you are your reality’s telecommunication tower; when you affirm, vibrations are going off in your mind and these vibrations instantly get reflected in the person or object you’re affirming for.  To further illustrate this quote, I will refer to Florence Scovel Shinn. According to her, we all share the same subconscious mind. There is NO separation between you and someone else. This is why free will is an illusion but that’s a topic for another day. There is no time or space when it comes to the subconscious mind. Your affirmations instantly reach their destination and will not “return void”. So when you are manifesting a specific person, the bridge of incidents is usually internal and psychological. The person’s mind is being saturated with affirmations and thoughts they are receiving from you. Your affirmations must first get filtered through their ego and accepted as if it is their idea. Sometimes, their belief systems are being challenged. Sometimes, they get an epiphany. There is no such thing as no movement. Every time you affirm, they get a thought of you. Every time you affirm for something inanimate, like a job or car, someone will get an idea to shift in order to bring about your desire. It does not matter how many people need to shift but they WILL shift to bring about your manifestation.

Now that you understand what affirming is and how it works, choose to believe that something good can happen and is happening right now. Only you have the wonderful gift of choice. Choose to saturate yourself with positivity. Take charge of your mind. You are in control. You always were and you always will be. You are the captain of your ship, your subconscious just blindly follows your instructions. You are doing yourself a disservice by focusing on negativity. That’s why choose happiness, choose love, choose peace.
